Valentines, stitches and a treadmill

Happy Valentine's Day!

Photobucket

On Saturday at soccer with Sage, we were talking about kids and stitches. Shortly after that one of the kids playing with Grace (Sage's teammates little brother) whacked his head on something and the mom had to rush him to get stitches. (I remember thinking, thank goodness we have not had to do that for a long time)!

After Sage's soccer games I stayed in Ogden to get some errands done without the kids. Jeremy was home with the kids...I was calling to tell them that I was on my way home, there was a lot of yelling and commotion. Jeremy said, hurry, Nic and call the doctor and see if I go to the doc or the ER. Now, just for reference sake, Jeremy does this to me and thinks it is funny...but this time there was no punch line and it was not funny. (He also knows he can never do this again unless it is real).

Thank goodness for great neighbors who came to get Zoe and Sage and the other parent drove Jeremy and Grace down so he could hold her. I met them at the ER, it was a REALLY long wait! I did not expect what I saw, Jeremy came in with Grace and they were both covered in blood! When the triage nurse took the rag off her forehead, I lost it. The gash on Gracie's head was huge and gaping.

Grace is now the proud owner of 30+ stitches on her forehead. She cut her head all the way to the bone so she has several layers of stitching. Poor little thing, she was such a sweetie and was really pretty brave considering she gets anxiety about dentists and doctors every time we have to go.

Note: We had just brought the treadmill in from the garage and the kids thought it was great fun to play on...yes, we should have known better (not our best parenting moment)...now we do! We still can't figure out what Grace hit her head on, but there was a pool of blood on the floor and a huge gash on her forehead to prove something bad happened!

Oh and you should not watch someone get hurt and think of your own children's lack of injuries... I must have been reminding the universe that our time was up!

Valentine's Day

I am really looking forward to this movie and a date with my hubby and some friends!

Can't wait for tonight, I am sure it will be super cheesy...but that is not the point, or maybe it is!

another lost tooth, another good report

Sage lost his second tooth today at school

Photobucket

We also went to parent teacher conference yesterday with Sage and his report was excellent! Those that know Sage find it hard to believe he can sit still and do well in school, but he does, he is a great friend, his reading and math skills are excellent and he is doing very well in school!

I guess we get all the excess energy once he comes home...but we wouldn't have it any other way!

super bowl birthday

Today is my birthday...

today is also the super bowl...

Those of you who know me, know that I really don't care about the super bowl at all...
but it is a good excuse for a party!

And who doesn't like a party on their birthday...
even if it is really not me people are coming to see!

finally February

It's finally February, the long dreaded month of January is over...
Photobucket
We celebrated mine and Papa Kim's birthday over the weekend and had a good time playing in the snow, we even got a little welcome sunshine!
Photobucket
This was after Jeremy, Sage and Papa skied the deep powder at Snowbasin...Sage was understandably tired by the end of the day!

Photobucket
Zoe loves being outside and is pretty happy being pulled around.

Jeremy figured out an efficient way to tote her around in all her snow clothes...she did not seem to mind at all!
