Happy 60th

Happy 60th Birthday!

My dad, our Papa Kim is 60 today. I can only hope that we are as active and healthy as my parents are when we are 60. They both ski every day, my mom cross country and my dad downhill. Such great role models for us and our children.

St. George

We went to St. George this past weekend for a little getaway. We stayed in a beautiful house and spent time with family, it was nice. The weather did not cooperate with us and it rained most of the time, we did find a great indoor pool for the kids though, the highlight of their trip I think.

Jeremy's trip highlight was this...on the first day, he insisted that we go to In N Out Burger (the best he says) for a late lunch. I was watching people come in and out and I noticed some guys who were muddy and looked like they had just finished riding, one of them had a nasty set of stitches up and down his ear that looked pretty raw so I pointed them out to Jeremy (if you know him, he loves bikes, any type of riding will do). He got so excited, and said you know who that is... it is the fat cyclist He reads this guys blog religiously and was thrilled to see him and his buddies after a bike ride. Apparently the one with the stitched up ear had just come from the ER he fell on a rock while riding.

We came home to a busy week, if I had known it was going to be so bad I might have stayed in St. George. On Monday we took Zoe in for her four month doctor visit which was fine. Grace came down with a cold on Sunday and by Tuesday, she started screaming about her ears hurting, I took her to the doc and she has an ear infection in both ears. Zoe has the cold now too (hoping I can wait until tomorrow to take her in) since Grace has to go back for her ears. Three trips to the doc in a week is a new record for us.

I do consider myself lucky because in the six years since we have had kids, this is the first ear infection, it is so sad and so miserable for kids, I had no idea. I have so much sympathy for those who go through so many ear infections.

Love them boots

I love those boots!
Where did you get them?

This is Grace's second year and second pair of boots like this, both pair compliments of Grandma Debbie. They are so great because they are easy, warm and they look so cute with everything she wears. Everywhere we go people notice her boots and compliment her on them or they ask...can I have your boots?

They have been very fun and oh so cute, hopefully we can clean them up for Zoe to wear in a few years too.

Inauguration Day

Barack Hussein Obama II is the forty-fourth and current President of the United States of America. He is the first African American to hold the office.

We have had our TV on all day (no cartoons). It has been such an exciting, historic event watching the inauguration of President Obama.
We are recording the events of the day so we can watch tonight with our family and celebrate this great country that we live, the United States of America.

Beautiful Day

Sage in the sled...many years ago

It has been a while since I have been able to get out and enjoy the snow other than shoveling. We went out cross country skiing this weekend, it was such a beautiful day, we all had a great time. It was Sage's first time on cross country skis (he has gone downhill skiing so far) but he did very well and had fun. We have this great sled that Jeremy hooks around his waist and he pulled both girls. It was a bit of a tight squeeze but they must have been cozy because they were both asleep in no time!

four months and counting

My baby is four months old today...I can't believe how quickly time goes.

She is such a sweet little thing, happy, pleasant, content and she is a pretty good sleeper, on a schedule no less! Yeah for that, I can handle getting up once at night, she got totally off schedule during the holidays and was getting up three times at night (bummer). But the little sweetie never complained when we went from place to place and kept her up way past her bed time.

She is so much fun now and loves her little hands (eating them that is). She is figuring out how to get toys into her mouth too which amuses Sage and Grace to no end.

The month of January is lots of things for me...

I usually have something like post-holiday blues.
It always seems like such a big letdown when the holidays are over and there is nothing very exciting going on.

Jeremy is pretty busy and stressed at work so his usual cheerfulness is lacking which leaves the rest of us lacking.

We helped my sister move out of her condo in Salt Lake City this weekend, it was a lot of work so the weekend flew by without feeling much like a weekend of fun, rest and play.

I am always happy when February rolls around, for some reason it is the end of the blues for me...maybe it is because my birthday is in February, hmmmmmm.

I was thinking about last year and January was a pretty eventful month for me.

I found out that I was pregnant with Zoe
(yeah, so excited)
I was quickly reminded of morning sickness (all day)
(not so excited)
I hurt my back, not sure how but I think all the snow and shoveling played a part.
It was awful, I spent a few sleepless nights wondering if I should go to the ER and really wondering if I was falling apart, I was terrified. Luckily I called my parent's very close friend who is a chiropractor and he fit me in, at that point I was in tears!

I spent a few weeks going for treatments, all the while knowing I was pregnant so taking pain meds was a definite no no. I have so much sympathy for people who have back problems and spend much of their lives in pain, I truly thought I was going to die and I only experienced pain for a few weeks.

I will take this January over last, back pain and morning sickness I can do without and who knows the month is young we could have some fun yet!

I promise a more cheerful post next time, this one reflects my mood I guess.

the best gift

This is not a good picture of me, Christmas morning, not enough sleep, no makeup...but this is when I opened my new computer, I was soooo excited.

I don't think I have mentioned just how cool, great, awesome, fun, addicting, wonderful my new computer is. We all absolutely love it!

Thanks mom and dad for such a great gift, it is the best!.

I knew my old computer was bad, but wow!

We have a lot more to learn in Macland...but we are having a great time figuring it out.

Go Utes

Most of you know that I would not normally post about a sporting event because I don't really care much about football etc. But, my husband does, the kids wear red when there is a big Utes game, Sage even has a jersey. We had people over for the Sugar Bowl to watch the Utes (who knew they would win) and it turned into an adventure.

About halfway through the second quarter of the game our power went flickered, came on and then went out...for good. Of course everyone was freaking out because at this point, the Utes were ahead. We quickly gathered food, children, coats and boots in the dark and drove in a blizzard to Morgan (Jeremy's parents house had power). The party moved to Morgan, the Utes won and we made it back home to a few more inches of snow and a house with power!
