Twilight

I went with my book club friends to see Twilight, I did not have high expectations about the movie and probably would not have even bothered to see it had we not gone together.

I was pleasantly surprised, the movie was very well done. I thought it was great and lots of fun to see with a group of great ladies. I can't wait for the next movie to come out...maybe I will have to settle for reading the books again for now.

the Graduate

My sister Raegan finished her Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design earlier this summer, her graduation ceremony was last week. There is something about the pomp and circumstance of those ceremonies to make it official.

Unfortunately, with these tough economic times, companies are not hiring so it is really tough for college grads to find work. One of my colleagues from OTI who lives in Florida has yet to find employment 5 months later and he is incredibly bright and has a vast amount of experience. Times are tough...hopefully they will get better soon!

I am so proud of you Raegan, you did it and who knows maybe there is more school in store for you. And if anyone is looking for a graphic designer...she is your girl!

Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we had the dreaded family pictures taken with Jeremy's family. I was dreading them for a few reasons, baby weight is not kind, Zoe was very small and I know from experience that getting pictures taken can be very stressful...at least with my kids.
I had been worried about Zoe being hungry or cold or tired and crying the whole time. I was right to be worried but I got the wrong daughter! Grace had a fit right off the bat brought on by nothing that we can figure out, it took lots of bribing from her daddy to get her calmed down.

But look at those beautiful grandkids, that should melt anyone's heart!

All in all, who could not be happy with such a great family.

the great debate

There is a debate going on at our house right now as to what color Zoe's eyes are going to be.

Sage has beautiful gray/blue eyes which look different depending on what color he is wearing.

Grace's eyes are so pretty, they are a deep, rich chocolate color.

So far, Zoe's eyes are looking pretty blue.

All dressed up with nowhere to go

We were supposed to go visit Grandma Bevy and aunt Tami today but colds are going around and we did not want to risk it with baby Zoe.

Sorry we don't get to see you guys, we are all dressed up with nowhere to go!

Opinions of a 6 year old

Grandma Debbie and Papa Kim gave Sage a new ski/snow suit this year for his birthday. Because most ski clothes were not out yet, we waited so he could pick it out himself.

We met my parents at Alpine Sports so Sage could pick out his new ski duds. Despite my mom and I cheering for the cute brown plaid and green suit above...Sage had a mind of his own and picked the suit below (which is also very cute). His reasoning, that one is for Boarders and I am a Skier, not a Boarder! Of course, he looks much cuter than this model in his ski suit.

This also coming from the kid who said this morning to the sweater I got out for him to wear...um, no thanks, I don't want to wear that (imagine him having such opinions)!

laundry

Today I attempted to to catch up on a lot of laundry. I hate laundry, not so much the task itself but beause it is never done. I love to finish something and check if off my list...laundry does not work that way.

Even Zoe was tired of laundry, she was laying on the dryer while I was folding clothes and fell sound asleep.

Sage and Grace are great little helpers, they can put away all of thier own laundry other than hanging up shirts which I help them with. They are very cute and really very helpful!

Schedule...what's that?

Today Zoe is 8 weeks old and while I will admit that once we passed the 6 week mark, things did get easier; we are not any closer to getting on a schedule.

On the bright side, Zoe no longer screams when Jeremy or the kids hold her which is what she did most evenings for the first many weeks. She has learned to love Jeremy which is so great, and will even tolerate Sage and Grace holding her for a bit.

She is a sweet thing and her smiles will melt your heart so we put up with her being just a bit spoiled. Who needs a schedule when you get this little bundle who loves to be rocked to sleep every night (we just never know what time that will be)!

Iron Chef

We have our very own Iron Chef at our house, my husband is a really great cook. This past Sunday our power went out about 10 a.m. and after a few hours, we realized it was going to stay out. We had invited my parents over for dinner and Jeremy made a great dinner despite having no power! We even baked carrot cookies on the grill.
FYI...we did not get power until about 8 a.m. the next day. It made for a long night in the dark especially since the time changed. We had fun playing light bright with the kids until we went to bed, very early.
Jeremy really is a fabulous cook, I am so lucky to have him. He loves to watch the food network, he is looking forward to the Iron Chef Thanksgiving Showdown. Apparently after that event, he and my mom can plan the perfect Thanksgiving dinner (even if it does not involve a Turkey)!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween, no coats and snow this year. Sage and Grace loved trick or treating and our little octopus, Zoe slept through most of the festivities.
