labor of love

This Christmas, the kids and I made these cute handprint gifts for my parents and for Jeremy. We had a great adventure making them, we started out one afternoon and we figured out the color scheme and what to put on each frame. Sage and Grace were so excited, we made their handprints pretty quickly on each frame and then it was Zoe's turn.

I am not sure if I ever realized that Zoe likes to keep her hands in fists...always! We tried quite a few times and every time we had the paint on her hands...squish. We decided to get Zoe to sleep so I rocked her in the sling. We thought for sure once she was asleep we could do it. Now keep in mind that not only did we have to get one perfect handprint but four of them!

Sleeping did not help. After several hours, lots of attempts, paint everywhere and a frustrated mom, I told the kids we would have to give up and put it all away before dad came home. They kept saying mom, don't give up, you can't give up...we need the wonder pets, they don't give up!

Fast forward to a new day, we decided our best bet was to try Zoe's feet. Let's just say we were lucky to get her little piggies because  she curls up her toes too!

Snow Babies

We finally have snow and we are enjoying it!

more fun

Sage was excited...but getting clothes is not a six year old's thrill. He was much happier when he opened his toys, like his Nintendo DS.
Give Gracie a baby and she is happy as can be, give her clothes and she loves them too.
Zoe found that eating her ridiculously cute dress was so much fun!

We had a wonderful Christmas, lots of parties and time spent with family. The kids had a great time but were worn out by today. We spent the day at home cleaning up and playing with toys, it was nice not to have to be somewhere.

Santa was very good to us all!
I was so excited to find this little beauty under the tree, compliments of my wonderful parents!

Did I complain a bit too much about my "old" computer?

We are now entering mac land, we have some learning  to do but so far I am having fun (and so is my Jeremy). I am so excited with the photo software, it is awesome!

My husband gave me a beautiful necklace with my babies birthstones, it has an aquamarine stone, pink sapphire and blue sapphire; so, so beautiful! He has been looking for a while and did not like anything he saw so he designed what he wanted with the jeweler himself, who knew he could design jewelry!

Visions of sugarplums

I love Christmas time, I absolutely love it all. The crazy schedules, holiday parties, shopping with the masses, organizing, wrapping and finding the perfect gift for someone!
Wishing you all a very
Merry Christmas
and a
Happy New Year!

Hats off

We have a lot of hats at our house...Zoe has a whole lot, here is just a sample of her collection.

Enough with the hats!

That is it, I have had it!

Look alikes...

For a while we thought Zoe looked so much like Grace, but now she looks like Sage too. I guess since they all came from the same batch there should be some similarities!

We have been waiting for the snow...Sage has really been waiting.

Finally it is here...beautiful fat snowflakes, we love it!

3 Months

Zoe is 3 months old today, you can see how excited she is.

Her favorite way to fall asleep is in someone's her favorite guys.

She is growing up so quickly and is so much fun. She is "aahhgoooing" right now on the floor next to me (Grace knows she can't step on Zoe).

The other day, we were getting ready to go to my parents house and I wanted to take my camera. I had it by the door ready to go (on the floor) and this little musher stood on my camera bag! I did not think much of it until I got my camera out to use it and the lens was broken, ouch! Very expensive lesson for me (cameras do not belong on the floor) and for Grace (do not step on things just because they are on the floor)!

So it is a good thing we all love her so much and we can laugh about it (sort of).

And it is a very good thing that most of the time she is this little angel!

Santa's Little Helper...

Zoe and I went shopping on black Friday, it was crazy as usual but it is always fun to try and keep up with Jeremy's family. We did not get up early or do anything crazy and we did not wait in many long lines.
I did get a few things checked off my list which was good and necessary considering I had not started Christmas shopping. I am not much further along but hopefully this weekend I will get some shopping done. If not, I will get on-line again with my "trusty" computer and shop away!

My computer has been on the blink...well it has been on the blink since I inherited it from my husband which is why I inherited it. I have always had a pretty decent, functional computer and my job always paid for it which made things very nice. The best part was that when I had a problem I had someone who could fix it for me.

Fast forward a few months and I have a very slow, dying computer and no one at my disposal to help. I did take it to my friend and former colleague earlier this week to see what he thought. He worked on it a bit and gave me his advice which was don't spend any money on the thing. Ii is funny though, I felt rather lost without it for the few days it was gone.

I am not the most patient person, especially when it comes to computers. It is a love/hate relationship, waiting for them drives me crazy but I am not sure how I could live without them. I am happy that I am not trying to get "real" work done. These days I use my computer for my pictures, blogging, email and the internet (I just got a bunch of Christmas shopping done on-line) such a dream since my kids are no shoppers!

We had a great Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we had a wonderful non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner provided by my husband and my mom, no turkey required!

Zoe just loved watching my mom's fan in the living room.

As I said, my husband is the best and this meal was so good!

Sage was thrilled about the chicken they cooked on the grill and insisted on all four legs!

My mom's table was beautiful, the potato/turkey placecards the kids made were a great touch.

I went with my book club friends to see Twilight, I did not have high expectations about the movie and probably would not have even bothered to see it had we not gone together.

I was pleasantly surprised, the movie was very well done. I thought it was great and lots of fun to see with a group of great ladies. I can't wait for the next movie to come out...maybe I will have to settle for reading the books again for now.

the Graduate

My sister Raegan finished her Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design earlier this summer, her graduation ceremony was last week. There is something about the pomp and circumstance of those ceremonies to make it official.

Unfortunately, with these tough economic times, companies are not hiring so it is really tough for college grads to find work. One of my colleagues from OTI who lives in Florida has yet to find employment 5 months later and he is incredibly bright and has a vast amount of experience. Times are tough...hopefully they will get better soon!

I am so proud of you Raegan, you did it and who knows maybe there is more school in store for you. And if anyone is looking for a graphic designer...she is your girl!

Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we had the dreaded family pictures taken with Jeremy's family. I was dreading them for a few reasons, baby weight is not kind, Zoe was very small and I know from experience that getting pictures taken can be very least with my kids.
I had been worried about Zoe being hungry or cold or tired and crying the whole time. I was right to be worried but I got the wrong daughter! Grace had a fit right off the bat brought on by nothing that we can figure out, it took lots of bribing from her daddy to get her calmed down.

But look at those beautiful grandkids, that should melt anyone's heart!

All in all, who could not be happy with such a great family.

the great debate

There is a debate going on at our house right now as to what color Zoe's eyes are going to be.

Sage has beautiful gray/blue eyes which look different depending on what color he is wearing.

Grace's eyes are so pretty, they are a deep, rich chocolate color.

So far, Zoe's eyes are looking pretty blue.

All dressed up with nowhere to go

We were supposed to go visit Grandma Bevy and aunt Tami today but colds are going around and we did not want to risk it with baby Zoe.

Sorry we don't get to see you guys, we are all dressed up with nowhere to go!

Opinions of a 6 year old

Grandma Debbie and Papa Kim gave Sage a new ski/snow suit this year for his birthday. Because most ski clothes were not out yet, we waited so he could pick it out himself.

We met my parents at Alpine Sports so Sage could pick out his new ski duds. Despite my mom and I cheering for the cute brown plaid and green suit above...Sage had a mind of his own and picked the suit below (which is also very cute). His reasoning, that one is for Boarders and I am a Skier, not a Boarder! Of course, he looks much cuter than this model in his ski suit.

This also coming from the kid who said this morning to the sweater I got out for him to, no thanks, I don't want to wear that (imagine him having such opinions)!

Today I attempted to to catch up on a lot of laundry. I hate laundry, not so much the task itself but beause it is never done. I love to finish something and check if off my list...laundry does not work that way.

Even Zoe was tired of laundry, she was laying on the dryer while I was folding clothes and fell sound asleep.

Sage and Grace are great little helpers, they can put away all of thier own laundry other than hanging up shirts which I help them with. They are very cute and really very helpful!
